Mainstream Investors Adds Industry Experience to Board of Governors

New Governors Bring North Dakota Oil & Gas, Real Estate Development Experience


MINOT, NORTH DAKOTA – (August 20, 2013) – Mainstream Investors, LLC, a North Dakota-based non-operating oil and gas company, announced today that it has appointed seven new members to its Board of Governors. The new governors will join Mainstream’s President, Mark Anderson and Vice President, Michael Donohue to round out the nine member board.

The seven new members of the board include Steve Bakke, Jeff Zarling, John M. Broschat, Joel J. Feist, Samantha Roberts, Daryl Andersen, and Michael Sweeney.

Steve Bakke currently serves as chief financial officer of Eagle Operating, Inc. Eagle Operating is an oil and gas operator located in Kenmare, North Dakota, and is involved in the exploration, development and production of oil and gas wells and leases, including the engagement of drilling, service, and workover contractors.  Mr. Bakke is a Certified Public Accountant and former shareholder of Brady Martz and Associates, P.C.

Jeff Zarling is the founder and president of Dawa Solutions Group, LLC, a business development firm based in Williston, North Dakota. Dawa developed the system used by the North Dakota Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties to operate and manage the Uniform County Permit program for the seventeen oil and gas producing counties in North Dakota.  Mr. Zarling and Dawa have also developed and produced numerous Bakken conferences, The Bakken Briefing and the Bakken Field Tour. He is a sought after speaker and his Bakken Oil Products & Service Show, Bakken Investor Conference, and Bakken Housing Summit have placed Mr. Zarling in the center of hundreds of connections to people operating and investing in energy related activities throughout western North Dakota.

John M. Broschat grew up in Williston, North Dakota, and began his career in 1976 with Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas, where he worked as an electrical engineer, designing infrared scanning systems for military aircraft.  In 1980, he returned to Williston to work with his father, Richard Broschat, at Broschat Engineering and Management Services, Inc.  During this time, he began his work supervising completion and workover operations on wells in the field.  Mr. Broschat specializes in reservoir engineering, with an emphasis in oil and gas reserve studies and oil property evaluations and appraisals.  Mr. Broschat is president of Broschat Engineering, a registered Professional Engineer and a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Joel J. Feist is the owner and president of Real Builders, Inc., based in Minot, North Dakota. Mr. Feist began his construction career in 1975 as General Manager of Concrete Mobile Inc. He joined his brother, Les Feist, at Real Builders in 1995 and bought the business with his partner Leon Danielson in 2003. Since that time, Real Builders has completed numerous building projects in the Minot area, concentrating primarily on residential construction. Mr. Feist currently serves on the board of directors of both the Minot Association of Builders and the North Dakota Association of Builders and serves on the board of directors of the Candlewood Suites, Souris Valley Suites and Hampton Inn & Suites, all in Minot, North Dakota.

Samantha Roberts grew up in Williston, North Dakota and is the owner of Roberts Geology Services, Inc. Ms. Robert began her career in 1995 working as a field geologist for an environmental consulting firm in Arizona. In 2008, she began consulting as a geologist, eventually moving back to Williston, North Dakota in 2009. She worked briefly as a landman to better understand the oil and gas industry. In 2010, she began working as a well site geologist. As a lead field geologist she works on location during the drilling of the vertical and horizontal portions of the well. Ms. Roberts has personally provided geologic consulting services on over 25 horizontal wells in the Bakken and Three Forks formations.  She is a registered professional geologist.

Daryl Andersen owns and operates Ham’s Well Service, in Westhope, North Dakota. Ham’s Well Service employs over 80 people and provides workover rigs and hot oil trucks as well as roustabout, crane service and welding services to the oil and gas industry.  Mr. Andersen began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1977 mowing oil well sites and roads.  He currently serves on the board of directors of the North Dakota Petroleum Council.

Michael Sweeney is Area Director-Oilfield Services for Waste Management, Inc. In June 2013, he sold two oilfield service companies, Summit Energy Services and Liquid Logistics, to Waste Management. Mr. Sweeney started Summit Energy Services out of his garage in April 2010, with five other employees. Prior to launching Summit, he worked as a Regional Manager for an oil and gas construction company.  Mr. Sweeney has extensive experience in the energy industry as well as in engineering, banking and international business start-ups.  He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and the Navy’s Supply Corps School.
