Mainstream Investors Expands Board of Governors, Adds Energy Research, Investment Expertise

New Governors Join Experienced Team of Energy, Business Executives
MINOT, NORTH DAKOTA – (June 16, 2014) – Mainstream Investors, LLC, a North Dakota-based non-operating oil and gas company, announced today that it has expanded its board of governors to enhance its oil and gas industry and investment expertise. The two new governors are John Harju and John Clymer and will join Mainstream’s President and CEO, Mark Anderson and Vice President and COO, Mike Donohue, on the company’s eleven member board.
John A. Harju is the Associate Director for Research at the Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC) located on the University of North Dakota campus. Mr. Harju oversees the activities of a team of scientists and engineers focused on research, development, demonstration, and commercialization of energy and environmental technologies. Prior to his current position, Mr. Harju was a Senior Research Advisor at the EERC. Before joining the EERC, he was Vice President of Crystal Solutions, LLC, a firm involved in commercial E&P produced water management, regulatory permitting and compliance, and environmental impact monitoring and analysis. Mr. Harju serves on the U.S. Department of Energy's Unconventional Resources Technology Advisory Committee, which provides advice to the Secretary of Energy on the development and implementation of activities related to unconventional natural gas and other petroleum resources. Mr. Harju is the outgoing chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission (IOGCC) Energy Resources, Research, and Technology Committee and serves on IOGCC's Carbon Capture and Geological Storage Task Force. In addition, he is a member of the National Petroleum Council and the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. He has authored and coauthored more than 100 professional publications.
John A. Clymer is the financial advisor for Marvin Windows, based in Warroad, Minnesota. Mr. Clymer began his career in investments in 1972 at Minnesota Life Insurance Company and eventually was appointed president of the company in 1991. He went on to be the Managing Director and President of Resource Capital Investors, a Minneapolis-based banking, trust, planning, and investment firm, in 1994. Mr. Clymer then became the Managing Director for U.S. Trust Company, serving as senior investment advisor to individuals and families. He was also actively involved in the regional U.S. Trust Company offices in strategy, compliance investment offering, and oversight. Following that, Mr. Clymer served as a private consultant and financial advisor until 2008, when he joined Marvin Windows. He currently serves on the Board of
Directors for several entities, including Marvin Companies, Trustmark Insurance Company, the Phipps Foundation, the YMCA Retirement Fund, and Presbyterian Homes and Services.
